  6. Place the roast back into the preheated 500 degree F oven for about 10 minutes or until you've achieved your desired crust. Remove and transfer roast to a cutting board. Keep covered with foil until ready to serve..

Line a roasting pan with aluminum foil. Prime rib is roasted with the bones intact while rib roast can be cut bone-in or boneless. Absolutely perfect, restaurant quality prime rib results from this recipe! It's easy and, once it's in the oven I can enjoy visitors' company instead of being in the kitchen fixing dinner. Next time, I will remove the bone before cooking (cook roast on top of the bone) for easier carving and remove some of the salt from crust before serving.
